Get ahead in 2022

With the festive break approaching you may be preparing for a deep clean or chance to catch up on paperwork. Why not use the opportunity to review your first aid training requirements?

Paediatric First Aid from British Red Cross Training

Our 2022 courses are now available to book and you can choose to attend either a two day Paediatric First Aid or a one day Emergency Paediatric First Aid training course.***

What first aid skills are covered?

Our paediatric first aid courses will help you to learn first aid skills for babies and children to ensure you are able to respond to a range of illnesses and accidents that you may come across in your setting, including head injuries.

Children aged between 0 and 5 account for over half of those who have a head injury, with 15% taking place in nursery and school settings.*

This highlights the importance of those working in early years settings to know how to help if a child has a bump to the head.

If a child in your setting has a bump to the head:

1. Get them to rest and put something cold on the injury.
2. Call 999 if they become drowsy, vomit or their condition gets worse.
3. Make sure someone responsible is able to look after them.

Something exciting is coming in 2022

Our blended paediatric first aid course is coming in 2022, enabling you to fit in your first aid training needs around other commitments. Look out for further updates!
