1. Educational Seminars and Panel Discussions
We have a fantastic line-up of speakers and panelists who will be sharing their expert and up-to-date knowledge on the industry. With a lump sum of 8 seminars and 2 panel discussions, there are plenty of topics to choose from.
The seminars will be looking into some of the most talked about topics in furthering children’s development such as play, communication and language, nature pedagogy, schemas, continuous provision and social justice. Ofsted will also be attending, providing updates and guidance.
Our panelists will be bringing the heat as they discuss recruitment and retention in the early year’s workforce, as well as key issues that need to be unlocked for the future of the sector, such as technology, SEND and business development.
2. Free Interactive Workshops
In the centre of the exhibition hall is our free interactive workshop area. These sessions are designed for hands-on learning, with fresh ideas that visitors can bring back to their setting to energize children’s learning.
Things may get a little messy as we embrace taking learning outside, focusing on fine and gross motor activities as well as understanding how the outdoors can support children’s holistic development.
We will also be thinking green, as we discover ways to creatively utilize the resources available whilst simultaneously supporting children’s understanding of ‘re-use and recycle’. A session on bringing language to life will inspire educators and focus on how language learning can heighten cognitive development, improve listening skills and boosting self-confidence.
3. Interactive Feature Areas
Join us in our immersive Forest School area to experience the magic of the outdoors and learner-led play, as you discover the holistic benefits of forest schools through a range of natural materials and resources.
Get yourself ready for some crafting fun in the Creative Steps Activity Zone! Have a go at making projects from the latest summer issue of Creative Steps – perfect to take back into your setting to encourage learning through creative play.
Take a moment to yourself in the Mindfulness Zones that can be found around the exhibition hall. Here, you can get imaginative in the popular mindfulness rocks area, explore with colour on the stunning colouring wall, or take some time out to soak in all the inspiration and ideas collected from the day.
4. Meet Special Guests
The fan favourite and award-winning early years Star, Alistair Bryce-Clegg from ABC Does, will be joining us once again. On Friday, he will be revealing what the superpower is that we all possess, in an up-lifting session that explores the power of play for children (and adults!). On Saturday, Alistair will be drawing on scientific research and his 30 years of experience in Early Years, to examine the concept of Continuous Provision. Be sure to attend one of his seminars over the two-day event!
The second special guest is the iconic entertainer, TV Presenter and Children’s TV Elder Statesman, Dave Benson Philips! Come along and join in the fun at his free workshops on Friday, as he performs and teaches Makaton Nursery Rhymes. Ensure to take this opportunity to learn some signs for grown-ups, children and babies too!
