What’s New at Childcare & Education Expo Midlands this September?

With the countdown to Childcare & Education Expo Midlands fast approaching, what new features can you expect to see across the free two-day event?

For 11 years, the leading event has been renowned for the quality of its CPD seminar programme. This year, the organisers are thrilled to announce the launch of speaker panels, made up of some of the most influential workers in the sector.

On Friday 24th September, the first panel ‘What Does the Future Look Like for Early Years’ will take place. The forward-thinking panel is made up of Purnima Tanuku OBE, Chief Executive at the NDNA; Mike Abbott, Operations Director at The London Early Years Foundation (LEYF); Clare Roberts, CEO of Kids Planet Day Nurseries; Arun Kanwar, Partner at Cairneagle Associates and Sarah Mackenzie, Chief Education & People Officer at N Famly Club.

Join this expert panel of speakers as they discuss what the next 5 – 10 years looks like following the pandemic and be a part of change and progress for the sector.

After the recent rise in awareness for living more sustainably, another panel will be providing invaluable support on how early education practitioners can embed sustainable practice into their settings.

Attend this session with June O’Sullivan, CEO at LEYF; Cheryl Hadland, Founder & MD at Tops Day Nurseries and Dr. John Siraj-Blatchford, Director at Schemaplay to discover the lasting effects practitioners can make on future generations and within their own setting.

On Saturday, the event welcomes some of the incredible practitioners behind the Birth to 5 Matters guidance that supports the effective delivery of the revised EYFS. During this panel, Michael Freeston, Director of Quality Improvement at Early Years Alliance; Shaddai Tembo, Lecturer at Perth College UHI; Professor Christine Pascal OBE, Director at the Centre for Research in Early Childhood and Debbie Gilleeney, Group Leader Manager at Humpty Dumpty Nurseries & Pre-Schools will discuss how settings might use the guidance to ensure the best provision for the children in their care.

Another exciting new feature for 2021 is the introduction of the Forest School Zone with Cambium Sustainable, who have over 20 years of experience! In this new feature area, see the value of learner-led play through their range of natural materials and resources, find out more about the 6 Forest School principals and how they can transform your outdoor provision and discover the ways in which Forest School can open up many holistic benefits for learners.
